Last February 2023, I was invited to speak to the students of Tahoma Middle School on their Future Ready Day for the second time. Future Ready Day aims to help Tahoma students create a practical plan for their future by incorporating various activities into an integrated approach. These activities are tailored to specific grade levels and are intended to enhance the students’ experiences and equip them with the necessary skills to become future-ready. It was a great honor to share some of my experiences as a real estate professional, and I encouraged them to pursue their passions and embrace lifelong learning.
A few days later, I received some stunning handwritten notes from the students. These notes serve as a powerful reminder of our influence on others, and they inspire us to encourage and motivate the younger generation to follow their aspirations and make a positive difference in the world.
As a professional real estate broker and an instructor at UW, I encourage you to do the same. Whatever your career may be, share your expertise and experience in whatever way you can. You may not only educate the kids on the subject of your capability but have also instilled in them the values of hard work, determination, and perseverance. Your words of encouragement may give them the confidence to believe in themselves and their abilities. This is why mentorship and championing are critical components for personal and professional growth. Inspiring them and helping them to dream big and work hard towards achieving their goals can help generate better leaders of tomorrow.
In my talk, I came in as a ‘Real Estate Broker in Cape’. It is a reminder that we can do all things powerfully. We may have our kryptonite, but if we work hard and put 100% effort into it, we can learn to master the craft and still save the day.
